“Thank you for having created such a magical place…for your extreme sensibility and kindness. It seems time has stopped here and wants you to feel part of a fairy tale. There are no words enough to describe this experience. Hope to come back soon and have some more Pain Perdu with you and see Mr. Dude. Con Tanto Amore.”

"This is by far the most beautiful B&B we have stayed in in Louisiana. The house is very pretty and comfortable, with tasteful furniture and decoration. Breakfasts were homemade and scrumptious, and Madeleine and her husband took a lot of time to give us recommendations on the area. Lake Martin is such a nice area. Definitely recommended."

"Maison Madeleine is a very, very special place. The amount of time, energy (and money) restoring this decades old beauty alone is enough reason to stay here. So much history! But add in the warmth of Madeleine, Walt and the amazing breakfasts - it's a treasure. From the moment Dude - the one eyed sweetheart cat - greets you, to the tour of the home, and a special invite to have cocktails in the "Jesus Bar" - you'll fall in love with the place. Everyone does!"

"Had bookmarked Madison Madeline to stay for sometime for a long overdue visit to Louisiana. We had the top floor to ourselves in their beautifully restored house on Lake Martin. The rooms were very comfortable large and decorated with interesting artwork much from Madeleine’s family. We enjoyed Madeleine’s delicious breakfast (including an amazing pain perdu), listening to her stories of her family’s long and fascinating history in the region. Madeline gave us recommendations for the area and our Saturday night in Beaux Bridge at the Joi de Vive Cafe was a night we will not forget. Thank you, Madeleine! If in the St Martin parish area, Madison Madeleine is the place to visit and stay."

Beloved Visitors

Over the years Maison Madeleine has been privileged to welcome and enjoy a number luminaries. Writers, directors, business titans, photographers, musicians, film and television personalities from around the globe have enriched our lives with their presence. Most are seeking the same calming respite and spirit of renewal many of our guests express to us when departing.  Given the seclusion of our locale and the abundance of nature with which we are blessed, it is little wonder those wishing to “escape from the madding crowd” have sought us out to experience the authentic culture and genuine hospitality we strive to provide. In return, we are committed to protecting their privacy before, during and after their visits.

One exception to that rule - with great sadness we wish to pay honor to Anthony Bourdain.
He graced Maison Madeleine with his warm, kind, and gentle off- screen personality while filming a segment of his series, No Reservations. A true gentleman was he. Like most of the world, we will miss him.
